A Little Bit About Scalextric's History:
The Scalextric Idea Started Out In 1952 Where The Business Was Originally Named 'Minimodels Limited'. The Company Introduced A New Range Of Bodied Cars Made From Light Metal Which Included A Lot Of Motor Mechanisms Inside. The Inventor, Mr B Francis Named The Company, SCALEX.
Of Course This Name Later Changed To SCALEXTRIC In 1957 Which Made The Idea Of Small Cars On A Track An Overnight Sensation. Unfourtunately Mr B Francis Could Not Handle The Amount Of Orders That Cane In, Leading To The Company Being Sold To TRI-ANG In 1958.
In 1963, There Was A Change To How The Cars Ran On The Track. The Track Was Now Being Made From Polythene, Reducing Costs Considerably.
In 1967 The 007 James Bond Set Was Unleashed Which Added To The List Of Great Products. Closely Followed By 'You Steer', Although This Did Not Prove Highly Successful.
In 2004, Scalextric Digital Was Unveiled Making Racing Much More Fun; Giving The Option Of Raing Upto 6 Cars On The Same Track Proved Highly Successful When It Became Available To Buy For The Public.
Overall, I Feel Scalextric Has Changed My Life Radically And One Day All These Products That Scalextric Have Made Will Be Something To Remind You Of All Your Childhood Memories.
